We Did It!
Two and a half years ago, our Sunday school adopted an ambitious project: to “fill and ark” for Heifer International. The project involved raising enough money to provide 2 sheep, 2 pigs, 2 flocks of geese, 2 flocks of ducks, 2 flocks of chickens, 2 llamas, 2 oxen, 2 cows, 2 water buffalos, 2 hives of honeybees, 2 trios of rabbits, 2 goats, 2 donkeys, 2 trios of guinea pigs, and 2 camels, a total of $5,000 worth of assistance, to help families living in poverty improve their lives. Well, with the help and support of many, we did it! We successfully filled an ark! Thank you very much.
Lent Begins Feb.22
Mid-week services will focus this year on the Seven Last Words spoken by Jesus as he hung from the cross with the choir singing an anthem for each. Times of these services are noted in the monthly calendar and in our worship bulletins. A soup and sandwich supper is also offered from 6:00-6:45 p.m. on Feb. 29, Mar. 7, 14, 21, and 28.
February Youth Group Activity
Put on your pajamas and come for a movie on February 12. We will meet 5:00 p.m. in the old church basement to watch, a fun flick, enjoy a bowl of soup (chicken noodle or vegetable beef) and make a few valentines for Valentine’s Day. And no movie would be complete without popcorn, so we’ll make sure to pop some.
